Gray and brown tabby cat male feral
Jackson has moved in!

When Kitty brought the four kittens, they were frightened of me at first.  Then, the second day that they were here, one of the kittens watched me pet their dad – Buster – while he was eating, and then the kitten ran over and started eating next to his dad.  It was obvious that he saw that his dad was fine with me, so he could be too!  Shortly afterward, two of the other kittens came over to eat too!  The fourth kitten (Monet) remained elusive for months.

Jackson quickly decided that the Food Lady was pretty cool and started to follow me all over.  One night I was sitting on the patio petting him and he started to purr.  I was thrilled that he was purring, and he seemed thrilled that I had made him purr!  I think it was that moment that he decided that I am his person.

Two of Jackson’s brothers remain feral and untamable.

After they had been here for a few weeks, Kitty decided to move the kittens again.  She had done this once before already, and they were gone overnight, only to return the next morning.  Well, this time she was ushering them all out of the yard when Jackson stopped and ran back towards the backyard.  Kitty followed him and they sniffed noses, and then Kitty turned and left and Jackson ran under the bush where they usually hid.  I saw all this on my camera after I was leaving for work and he was the only kitten who ran out to greet me.  I watched my camera feed to see what happened and when I saw that he came back on his own, I picked him up and took him inside!! From that day onwards, I have been his person!
